Pap smear.....helpppppppppp. ?

Can an doctor tehell your pregnant during a pap smear? I had n pap smear done n it is a posiblly that I could be. All the doctor saiid was that my cervix was tightly closed. N I was hauing some brown spottn , he said it could be my period comin bt the next day the brown spotting stopped n period never came. So I'm just wondering y my cervix would b closed n y my period didn't come. Plss help any similar experiences ? Thank u n advance
